Personal Background:

A strong work ethic was a way of life in my early years on a sugar beet farm in central Washington State, as was cutting cots in the summer in pre-Silicon Valley days. Responsibility came with being the oldest of eight children, and later raising two beautiful daughters as a 50/50 single parent. Living in Santa Clara Co. since the 60's, I know the communities, traffic patterns, schools, jobs, weather, and the unique lifestyle in the South Bay.

I am second generation in a real estate family where my mother was one of the first women in the "men's profession" of real estate. My father was the owner of the California Academy of Real Estate, a training school. During college years I worked construction jobs on military bases and sold door to door World Book Encyclopedias. My first year in real estate was at Ram Realtor where I sold the highest priced home ever sold by Ram. In following years I was a top producer for several different real estate companies, currently at Coldwell Banker in Saratoga

I have two daughters who are now beautiful and accomplished young ladies, and a recent great acquisition of a son-in-law. Spending time with them is my leisure activity of choice, be it camping, BBQ parties, or holiday get togethers. I've enjoyed some great trips to the back country of Kodiac, Denali, and Cordova Alaska on float expeditions fishing for salmon, and deep sea charters for halibut. Some time ago I became an ardent addict to West Coast Swing, country and ballroom dancing. Other activities include basketball, workouts at the gym, water skiing, bicycle touring, and recently some yoga. Reading, especially non fiction, is a pastime and with the recent re-landscaping of my yard I have gotten into gardening and plants.

Education:

Graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, San Jose, CA with classes in journalism, editor of the school newspaper. Varsity basketball, Cross Country running.

BA degree from Brigham Young University with studies in real estate, advertising, marketing and construction. Weekend classes in moguls and powder skiing.
